Just finishing off these two new pieces for the Ryedale show. A pair of Stone Circle pieces that go together and the completed Dolmen.
Glass Boat Setting
Now completed in time for my upcoming exhibition at the Ryedale Folk Museum. The glass Boat Setting. This has been in the making for some time now and it is great to have finally completed this work.
RSA Open 2013
One of my “Archaeoprint ” series of works has been selected for the forthcoming RSA Open in Edinburgh. This exhibition opens on the 23rd of November and runs until the 26th of January 2014. The preview is on Friday the 22nd of November at the RSA Edinburgh. For more details of the show visit the RSA. The image is titled “Track and Barrow” it is a combined etching, drypoint, Japanese woodblock and carborundum print.
Glass Dolmen
Still in production this glass Dolmen is nearly ready for completion…… Not quite there but nearly! Plus an early set up for the new “Boat Setting” that I am currently working on.
RGI Annual Open 2013
Opening in a weeks time this years Royal Glasgow Institute Annual Exhibition. This year sees a return to the McLellan Galleries on Sauchiehall Street. This will be the 152nd Open show of the RGI. I have had two works selected from my Archaeoprint Series. The show opens on the 10th of Nov and runs until the 8th of Dec. More details at the RGI.
20:20 Print Exchange
I have just completed a print for this years 20:20 print exchange run by The Hot Bed Studios in Manchester. It is a Japanese Woodblock print in the required edition of 25 and of course is 20 cm x 20 cm!
The Written Image
Final works for the Written Image project are now completed and delivered ready for the forthcoming exhibition at Edinburgh printmakers. The final images are a mix of techniques including etching, screenprint, archival inkjet and sandblasted glass.
Glass Menhirs
A new pair of glass “Menhirs” or standing stones. Set on a found stone from Skara Brae in Orkney. Each of the stones has hand engraved markings and a pressed mark formed when hot. They are hot formed pieces the tallest being approximately 25 cms in height.
The Written Image
I am participating in a collaborative project with the Edinburgh Printmakers and the Scottish Poetry Library. This will culminate in an exhibition at the Printmakers in November and December later this year called “The Written Image”. The poet I have been paired with is Paula Jennings who lives in Fife and works creatively with people who have dementia, making collaborative poems and we are already working on a few initial ideas.
Sheriffside Enclosure
New screen print for the “Archaeoprint” show is based on data and photographs from the Sheriffside excavation in East Lothian. Carried out last year by Rampart Scotland.
