During this years Traquair Fair I will be giving glass blowing demonstrations.
One of the last things to come out of the original Glassworks were a series of standing stones made from glass. These are the first in a new series of similar objects which will form the core of a new sculptural group. They are at present not completed.
Most recent attempts at glass blowing – these three sided vase forms will have cut and polished tops when completed.
Recent glass making from 2009 – works made in the hot glass workshops of Graham Muir in Duns.
“Glassworks” was the name of the hot glass studio which ran from 1981 till 1990 – based first in Edinburgh City centre then at Eskmills in Musselburgh. It was a production workshop making functional ware such as wine glasses, scent bottles, vases, bowls etc. Alongside these exhibition and one-off pieces were also made.
